None survive Gharb explosion as sixth dies
Paul Micallef, 35, from Fontana, who was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital suffering from severe burns following the explosion of the Gharb fireworks factory on Sunday, also passed away yesterday.

Mr Micallef was the sixth victim of the blast, which means that none of those who happened to be in the factory at the time of the explosion on Sunday at 6.10pm have managed to escape unscathed.

Raymond Farrugia, 38, from Fontana, passed away in hospital on Tuesday after he also failed to recover from severe burns.

Mr Farrugia was the son of factory owner Nenu, 67, who died in the explosion together with his other son, Noel, who was 31, and the latter’s wife Antinette.

Jean Pierre Azzopardi, 27, of Xewkija, was also killed in the explosion.
