Hi Roy,
"She says its poorly and do you know what to do to perk it up,"
You are asking one of the hard questions, it's like going to the Dr and saying I dont feel to good what can I take to make me better.
I can't say give it 2 asprins and if it's not better in a couple of days then we'll try some thing else.
So getting out my crystal ball,
Indoor Azalias dont like to be to warm, so close to heating or in a sunny window NO.
They are shade plants rather than full sun.
They dont like to be over watered. Plunge the pot in tepid water when the flowers start to show the plant is dry, let it soak for a few minutes, then let it drain so that it doesn't stand in water.
When they have been moved to a new home they will often shed a lot of after leaf a week or two.
They are acid lovers so don't like hard water with a lot of calcium in it, so if your water is hard then rain water for them.
I have 3 doing quite well, they were all "Rescue" plants, all greatly reduced, the most expensive was 90p and they are now doing well.
When in flower they don't require feeding but later in the season when they are making new growth then feed.
Hope this helps
Taffy
